Industry Forum Sessions 2023

1. IPv6-based 5G, IoT, Cloud Computing

Session Outline

The IPv6 Forum is attracting a very good number of players (100+) to its new IPv6-Enhanced Council including ISPs/Vendor/Academia from Europe, US and Asia to work on:

  • Identify gaps and recommendations of existing and required IPv6 standards both inside IETF and in other SDOs
  • Identify and describe IPv6 Network related use cases & specific scenarios, derived requirements and IPv6 networking challenges in the following areas:
    • IPv6 based 5G (and beyond 5G) IP transport and cloud & IP network convergence
    • IPv6 based enterprise networking and Industrial Internet
    • IPv6 cybersecurity and management
    • IPv6-based Blockchain
  • Document an automated networking e2e reference architecture, using IPv6
  • Describe an IPv6 based specific deployment best practices / guidelines and transition tools for: (1) IPv4 to IPv6, (2) dual stack to IPv6 only
  • Provide and demonstrate PoCs and test case descriptions to validate IPv6 standards based approaches.

2. Blockchain for IoT and Enterprise Verticals

Session Outline

Blockchain technology can be used in Internet of Things (IoT) and enterprise verticals to provide secure and decentralized data storage and communication. In IoT, blockchain can be used to create a secure network of connected devices, where each device can securely communicate and interact with other devices without the need for a central authority. This can enable new decentralized applications such as smart cities, supply chain management, and machine-to-machine transactions.

In enterprise verticals, blockchain can be used to create secure and transparent supply chain management systems, as well as secure voting systems and secure data sharing. Additionally, blockchain can be used to create decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) which can enable new forms of decentralized decision-making and governance.

Overall, blockchain can be used to provide secure and decentralized solutions for IoT and enterprise verticals, enabling new use cases and applications.
